The Fayum Standard

Quality you can audit.
Traceability you can scan.

Egyptian herbs get rejected in Europe for three reasons: pesticide residues, microbiology, and foreign matter. We built the entire company around eliminating all three — and documenting the proof.

01 · Residues

Pesticides are a farming problem. We solve them in the field.

No sterilizer removes residues — so we refuse to inherit them. Our sourcing runs pesticide-first:

Contracted plotsnamed & mapped before the season
Spray diariesdocumented per plot, per application
Pre-harvest intervalenforced & recorded
Field-sample MRL screenbefore purchase — not after
Reference frameworkEU Reg. 396/2005 · GCC / US on request
02 · Microbiology

Steam. Only steam.

Saturated-steam sterilization, validated to a 5-log reduction standard with surrogate-organism trials and process-authority documentation. Every production cycle records temperature, pressure and lethality (F₀) — and the log is attached to the lot passport.

No ethylene oxide. No irradiation. No exceptions — because your label shouldn't need an asterisk.

03 · Foreign matter

Engineered against the limits.

Multi-stage sieving and aspiration, destoning, rare-earth magnets and in-line metal detection — designed around the ESA Quality Minima extraneous-matter limits. Optical sorting joins the line on our published upgrade roadmap.

04 · Traceability

One lot. One passport.

Every lot carries a QR passport built on our in-house traceability platform: plots of origin, spray diary, sterilization cycle data, moisture & aw, and the laboratory COA — one scan, full custody chain.

Structured for EU due-diligence files, aligned with US FSMA-204 traceability record-keeping, and ready for GS1 lot-level labelling as retail programs require it.

Plots of origingeo-referenced
Spray diary + PHI✓ full season
Sterilization cycle (F₀)✓ per lot
Moisture / aw✓ measured
Laboratory COA✓ ISO/IEC 17025

05 · Laboratories

Tested where the EU itself tests.

Residue and microbiology testing is performed at ISO/IEC 17025-accredited laboratories, led by Egypt's national QCAP laboratory — an internationally recognized reference facility covering hundreds of pesticide compounds and contaminants. Third-party pre-shipment inspection (SGS / Bureau Veritas) is available on request for first orders.

06 · Transparency

Audit us. Please.

The full audit pack — specs, COAs, process flow, HACCP summary, allergen & food-fraud statements — reaches your inbox within 48 hours. Facility and farm visits are welcome by appointment; remote video audits can be arranged for supplier qualification.

FAQ

The questions your QA team will ask.

Do you use EtO or irradiation?

Never. The facility is steam-only, validated to a 5-log standard — and the cycle log ships with every lot.

How do you control MRLs?

Contracted plots, spray diaries, PHI enforcement and a field-sample MRL screen before purchase. Lots ship with a 17025 COA against EU Reg. 396/2005.

What documents ship with each lot?

Spec sheet, 17025 COA, sterilization log, moisture/aw record, allergen & food-fraud statements, and the QR lot passport. Full audit pack in 48 hours.

Can we audit you?

Yes — on site by appointment, or by remote video audit for qualification. Our HACCP-based system is built toward GFSI-scheme certification on a published roadmap.
